CHIP Issue #2

It's out since last Friday.
Expect to reach more newsstands this couple of days.

But there wont be any free gifts like last month!

Only CHIP CD, securely embedded inside the magazine (not outside anymore).

Any comments on issue 2 welcome here...

As of today, still no sign...will check this weekend. Bad news is that some magazine titles seems to disappear altogether from our local newstands. Hmm...rising cost to send the mags over to East Malaysia?

Hm...according to our distributor, the magazines are all out already, including states outside of KL. Try checking again...

Or is it a conspiracy as mentioned here?

Just finished reading #2.

Here's some thoughts.

The 1st things I do, flip to review areas, just as I thought, again ... Sigh ... Nothing catches my eye, not even one motherboard and graphic card review, nevermind, I said to myself, let's start from pg. 1.

And thus, yada yada yada ... I finished the whole mag.

Quite a lot of interesting articles I have to say, but it just lack something more techie, hardware side. My friends who read chip also says the same.

Well after all, maybe you think we are geeks/hardcore/l33t or whatever, IMHO, every tech magz (especially PC mags) should have at least some of those .. This will draw more attention of readers.

Anyway, it's a good start for CHIP.

ya ya why not post letter of the month and get prizes like software ??

just a suggestion...

now oledi got quad core tech... why not put more techies abt dual and quad processors comparison ?>

hehe just suggestions lah. so many end users dunno wat the heck is tat.

i agreed vit u ubsacc ...my admin staff always asking me this question what is dual and quad processors ...which ones brand more value money to end users eg: gamers, family and business. :twisted:

There WILL be a quad-core related article next issue..so watch out for that one...

Regarding LoTM contest, not just yet as we're still coaxing some sponsors for the monthly prize. but soon though...we're working on it.

Any other comments? Liked the articles? design/layout/cover? Favourite section...?

I finally found it in Popular.

Went to my usual newstand on Saturday (21/04) and the man didn't say 'Meiyu'...this time he said 'Wan liau lor'. Wah...it's only like 2 days ago I baru asked him...hot cakes lah...

Kenyalang = no more
Sweet Memory (Tabuan Jaya) = no more
BDC newstand = no more (Wan liau lor!)
Popular (BDC) = 3 copies left and I bought 1 at RM11.40 (Kuching price, Haha!)

Ok, I read quite a bit over the weekend.

I liked these articles and thanx to CHIP for the new info (for me, that is).
- Rugged Notebooks (didn't know such ones existed)
- Dissecting Cicakman (didn't know that M'sians are getting so much better)

The rest of the mag are cool too, read most of the headings...just too busy to get into the details...but will do sooner or later.

Got a problem with the CD. After I'd taken the envelope out from the page, the pages become all sticky...so I have to put the CD envelope back. I don't think it is a good idea to stick the CD onto the pages inside the mag. Can revert to having it outside or at the backcover (inside)?
